As you may have noticed, the SnS Fanfiction Database has been "under
maintenance" for quite awhile now. The reason for this is, that I have
moved the entire website to a new host and domain name (http://www.kat-tunworldwide.com).
(For those of you who want to know why: the previous webhost didn't have
enough space and was too limited to host a dynamic website like SnS ^^)
I was planning on moving the entire fanfic database to the new host myself,
so that I wouldn't have to bother you at all. Unfortunately... you
receive this email from me today, meaning moving the database didn't work
out the way I planned.
I have bridged the entire website, meaning you only need one global account
instead of the previous forum account + fanfic account situation. It's
more logical and simple to just have one account for the entire website, don't
you think?
Alas, because of the bridge I cannot move any of the old fanfiction accounts,
due to the fact that (technical rant now) it was stored in a different MySQL
database and both systems (fanfic database and forum) operate entirely different
so it's impossible to let them merge.
So, in short: we will need to manually move every single fanfic, plus those
of you who do not have a forum account on SnS yet, will have to create one...
I know and understand that most of you don't have time to move everything
and create a new account. And I know some of you might find all this annoying.
Therefore I truly apologize.
But I have really tried everything to move all stories myself, without any result...
*sighs in defeat*
If you do not have a SnS account yet, I am willing to create one for you
and move all your stories myself to save you all the trouble. After that, I
will email you your password, so you can change it for security reasons.
However, if you already had a SnS forum account, I'm afraid you will have
to move everything yourself*... I am terribly sorry, but unless you are
willing to give me your password (which I do not recommend, but if you really
do not want to move everything yourself, I am happy to log into your account
and move everything instead. ^_^) I cannot access your account, which means
I cannot add your story.
If you do not have an account yet, and you would like me to continue hosting
your fanfic, could you please let me know whether you want me to create one
for you (and move your stories) or not?
Also, if you do not want your fanfic on SnS anymore, could you please let
me know as well?
I will not move your fanfic then and delete it on the old database instead.

*: I do realize that it might be troublesome to move everything + to post
new chapters on both LJ and SnS. That's why we have a r0;Recommendations/non-SnS
link"system, which allows you to just link to your journal (or other
website) instead of having to copy + paste your new chapter each time. I must
admit I'd prefer authors posting their work onto SnS to avoid any loss
of fanfics when the author decides to close his LJ or something similar, but
if it really is too time-consuming for you, using the r0;Recommendations/non-SnS
link" system is fine as well. ^_^
